Home | Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery in Montreal

Important Notice

Due to the weather conditions and the frequent snow, ice and rain, the Cemetery will remain closed to visitors until our limited staff can make access and circulation to the site completely safe. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

We will be able to serve bereaved families who have an appointment for a crypt or mausoleum burial or cremation service. These families will be admitted through the main entrance of the Cemetery, on Côte-des-Neiges Boulevard. No interments in the grounds are possible at this time.

The current strike is reducing the number of staff available at the Cemetery. For more information, please see the news release. We hope that negotiations will lead to the renewal of the collective agreements as soon as possible. For more information, please read the press release.

We will inform you on this page when access to the cemetery can be provided in a safe manner. Thank you for your understanding.

Eco-Friendly Options

Inspired by the nature of Mount Royal, we have developed eco-friendly options to allow people to make their final gesture kind to the planet.

Cremation

Cremation is now chosen by nearly 75% of Quebecers. There are many reasons to choose this option, including its simplicity and the possibilities it offers.

Traditional Burials

Thanks to its exceptional location on Mount Royal, Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery has a large surface area that allows it to offer many plots even today.

Mausoleums : Burial in a crypt or columbarium

Burial in a columbarium allows the insertion of an urn in a niche; burial in a crypt allows the insertion of a coffin in a dedicated space in a mausoleum.

Commemoration

Because we know that your loved ones are not forgotten, we offer several memorial services and items to honor their memory.

Funeral Prearrangements

Funeral prearrangements allow you to plan your final wishes while you are alive, and to ensure that they are respected at the time of your death.
